Cookie Policy

Last updated 8 November 2026

CogDojo uses cookies needed to keep your account secure. If optional analytics is configured, it loads only after you choose to allow it.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things between page loads: for example, that you are signed in. Some cookies are strictly necessary for a site to work; others may be used for analytics or advertising.

2. The cookies we use

The signed-in dashboard uses two essential cookies:

Session cookie

Strictly necessary

Keeps you signed in to the web dashboard so you don't have to log in on every page.

Expires when your session ends or you sign out.

CSRF cookie

Strictly necessary

A security token that protects your account against cross-site request forgery on signed-in actions.

Lasts for the duration of your session.

Memory Spark comparisons

When you start Memory Spark, browser storage remembers your first attempt so replays do not count as new first attempts. We record a random attempt identifier, game version, progress and timing to calculate the shared first-try percentages. This does not require your name, email or age and is separate from optional website analytics. The marker stays until you clear site data. Blocking this storage prevents your attempt from contributing, but you can still play.

3. What we don't use

We do not load advertising trackers. Optional GA4 or Plausible analytics, when configured, loads only after you choose “Allow analytics” in the marketing-site prompt. Your choice is stored in this browser so we can remember it on later visits.

4. Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Please note that if you block our session or CSRF cookies, the signed-in dashboard will not work, because they are required to keep you logged in and secure. The marketing pages of this site remain fully readable without them.

5. Changes to this policy

If we change the tools used on the site, we will update this page and ask before loading new optional analytics.

Account cookies keep you signed in; game storage prevents repeat counting. Optional website analytics follows your separate choice.
