Terms of Service

1. The agreement

“Service” means the CogDojo mobile app, this website, and the signed-in web dashboard. By registering for or using the Service, you accept these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use CogDojo. You agree to provide accurate information, including a truthful age bracket, and to keep your login details secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. What CogDojo is — and is not

CogDojo is built for engagement, habit-building, and the honest measurement of your training over time, through games and a Brain Fitness Index. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We do not claim that using CogDojo improves real-world performance, prevents cognitive decline, or treats any condition. Any reference to the underlying science is offered with that caveat.

4. Acceptable use

We ask you to use CogDojo fairly. You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, copy, or resell any part of the Service, except where the law expressly allows it.

• Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or other users' accounts.

• Manipulate scores, leaderboards, or peer comparison through automation, exploits, or fake accounts.

• Use the Service unlawfully or in a way that infringes others' rights.

5. Subscriptions and payments

CogDojo offers a free tier and optional paid plans. Paid subscriptions are billed through the app store you purchased from, on the terms shown at checkout, and renew automatically unless you cancel. You can manage or cancel a subscription through your app-store account. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable.

6. Your content and data

Your account and progress data belong to you. By using the Service, you grant us the permission needed to store and process that data to operate CogDojo — for example, to compute your Brain Fitness Index and peer comparison. How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy, including your rights to export and delete it.

7. Our intellectual property

The CogDojo name, the Spark mascot, the games, the Brain Fitness Index method, and all related software and design are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own, non-commercial use. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service running well, but we provide it on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may add, change, or remove features — including games — and we may suspend the Service for maintenance. We will give reasonable notice of material changes where we can.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CogDojo is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using CogDojo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the Service in a way that harms others or the Service itself. On termination, the sections that by their nature should survive will continue to apply.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
